How do we collect this information?
We require you to fill-out a registration form before granting you access to any of our auctions. This registration is voluntary, but bidding access to auctions cannot be granted until billing bona fides have been established. This is to safeguard the selling agent and the owner of the listed product.
How do we use this information?
If you are an Agent, then we will use your Name and Address to bill you on behalf of your clients and also for any advertising/promotional work we may do under instruction from you.
Your Name and Phone Number will be provided to the selling agent of any lot on which you are the purchaser or highest bidder.
Your Phone Number will be used to call you if you are seen to be actively bidding in a sale and you appear to 'lose your line'. This can be particularly critical in a Simultaneous auction as the timer is counting down. The AuctionsPlus staff will endeavour to fix your problem, or hold up the sale, or bid on your behalf until your connection is re-established.
Your email is necessary to receive our Auction Catalogues and weekly Market Comments. Both are "opt in" mailing lists and each email carries the instructions to "opt out".
Who will see this information?
We will not share, sell or trade your information to any entity or person. We do not supply mailing lists to any individual or company.
Our contracted auditors may have access to this information.
We go to great lengths to ensure that our data files are kept safely away from access by non authorised persons by the use of 'firewalls' and 'encryption' processes.
Contacting you via email
The weekly Market Comments email and Auction Catalogue emails are never sent unsolicited. You only receive this information if you elect to "opt in" by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Every email provides you with the necessary "opt out" instructions for "unsubscribing".
Occasionally we might deem it necessary to email out important information to all our users.
Access to your information
You can check the information we hold on record whenever you access our website. Once you have logged in, click on User Details under Your Usercode in the main menu. If this information is incorrect there is a link that allows you to email us with the correct details. This method affords continuous online updating abilities for all users of the system.
Securing your information
AuctionsPlus takes reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is stored securely. Stored information about you is protected from unauthorised access through the use of firewalls, secure passwords and login processes.
