Assessor Comments
Buyers a very well-presented line of Vendor bred Angus Heifers with their first calves at foot, this opportunity has only arisen as the vendor only retains heifers that calve in the first cycle. These heifers are classed in just fall slightly out of the criteria. The McRae herd is focused on easy doing cattle with moderate frame but above average figures for carcase and fertility traits, they aim to produce cattle that will finish well both on grain and off pasture. These heifers offer a range of potential options going forward, the term front paddock cattle does get used to often however with time to grow out these heifers suit the term. They have not been rejoined to give buyers the opportunity to join to the sires of their choice. They would make ideal replacement heifers for an all-Angus herd, alternatively with the quality genetics they are ideal to produce high end F1 wagyu. Some heifers show old pink eye scarring, and 1 calf had active pink eye which was treated on the day.
