Cows are fit to travel up to 800 km from Julia Creek in one lift. A 12 hour spell is recommended at 800 km if travelling further then 800 km in one lift. Cows are in store condition & strong. Best transport practices encouraged.

Cows where good to handle, Approx 10% became slightly agitated in the crush area under close pressure. Good to handle in the yards (pound draft). Generally mob has a good temperament as they settled down quickly after pressure of handling & yarding up, catching & weighing.

A high grade Brahman line of PTIC, very good quality, majority aged cows, that will perform well on quality pasture. 1 x 5 deck lot preg tested in calf. Sample mouthed where all broken, worn or gummy. PTIC by vet with 34hd x 6 months & over and 76hd PTIC 5 months & Under. Cows are tagged so can be identified into groups by ear tags for calving intervals. Age 6% 9yrs & under, 20% x 10yrs, 27% x 11yrs, 34% 12 & 13yrs, 13% 14-17yrs. 90% Vendor bred line are Over 40 years of brahman breeding from "Hacon family" Brahman herd, Julia Creek. Quality brahman cows producing Large to medium Frame, well muscled with strong bone, length & confirmation. Four brands in lot but all cross branded. Generally good Quiet temperament, However the brahman flight zone needs to be respected as they are responsive to pressure. Colour 70% Grey, 15% red, 10% honey & 5% other. one old brindle cow in mob never missed a calf but is small with horn and second grade. 5 Cows have untidy udders but will rare a calf.

Grazing Conditions
Cows have been running in sandy forest country. Pasture includes spear grasses and summer herbages. Weaners have only weaned off majority early - mid May. Cows use to eating tree browse. Cows will preform well on most country coming from sandy forest
Returned to: Open blacksoil, productive, downs country. Grassed with Mitchell and flinders.
Vendor Comments
A very good quality line of our Brahman aged cows. Normally these cows would be retained through to slaughter cows however with the deteriorating season the decision has been made to sell earlier than normal.
