Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Two heifers were very quiet to handle in all sections of the yards and extremely calm on the weighing platform. They have settled down very well since weaning and throughout the education process considering it has only been 1 week since weaning. There was one heifer that reacted very negatively after being caught in the head bale to be NLIS tagged. She thrashed around whilst this occurred and did become quite agitated in the bigger yards. Prior to this she was quiet like the balance of the lot.

Assessor Comments
Buyers here is a lot of Angus x heifers out of some purchased PTIC Angus x heifers purchased from Dunedoo in NSW. They look to have plenty of breeding in them visually and considering they are out of 1st calf heifers have had an excellent start. These are bred in lighter country but don’t look to have had any setbacks since birth and I would expect these to perform very well on some heavier country especially now the weaning process is out of the way. They have plenty of shape and depth of barrel evident in the photos/video. They look to be very clear in the eye and no nasal discharges evident that can be prevalent in the winter months after weaning so consider to be in very good health. These will suit to background to heavier domestic feedlot entry weights. Noted one heifer reacted badly to being caught in the head bale and hopefully she will quieten down once back with the balance of the mob between assessment and delivery. Four lots in sale from this property.
