Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Heifers were mostly very quiet in the yards and through the crush. A few doing a bit of protesting since being orally drenched on their last visit. Otherwise all well behaved. One heifer didn’t want to go in to the force and did some running around, just being a bit ignorant, no signs of aggression at all. Eventually gave in and was fine in the crush. Assessor Comments
Good line of females that were purchased to make use of the abundance of this years feed. These have been low maintenance heifers that received minimal attention and were all left to calve unassisted. Although Not many look straight Angus, and some are showing some minor signs of Shorthorn and Santa influence, they’ve all thrown proper black calves and none with white bellies or floppy ears. Good line of females for anyone else with a bit of extra feed this year. Second calvers are in demand and these come with a big calf at foot that already presents a decent rebate. Please see photos & video.
