Heifers showed some nervousness whilst working through the yards, & demonstrated some flightiness. Heifers generally took exception to being mouthed/caught in the head bail, with 5 heifers jumping about a bit in the crush. Heifers were generally calm when reunited with their calves, for photos in the paddock. Station bred heifers that could be improved with more handling.

Assessor Comments
A nice line of one-mark WATERVALLEY Black Angus bred first-calvers, with Angus calves at foot. These heifers are displaying young, medium frames, having previously come from a very dry pocket of SE South Australia. They are producing a good supply of milk, which is nourishing the fresh, young calves at foot, which were marked & vaccinated at assessment. Heifers are presenting in fresh to forward store condition & are moving forward in condition, as they shed their winter coats and start to shine up. They possess adequate bone structure, & a reputation for 'doing ability' to put considerable weight on quickly with the warmer weather & the feed hardening up as it seeds. A great opportunity to secure a good quality line of young breeders, with an even line of young Angus calves at foot. Ideal units to improve quickly by adding weight, & in turn, value. Vendor is offering another a line of 16 x 16 good quality Angus first calvers this sale also.
