Heifers were generally calm & easy to handle in the yards, with only an odd heifer stirring when pressure was applied in force yards. A few heifers appeared to be a little uneducated to the crush & confined spaces, with some heifers nervous or unsettled whilst being mouthed or standing on the weigh platform, & were looking to exit the crush swiftly. No heifers in the mob were aggressive & all heifers settled well when returned to the mob.

Assessor Comments
A very good quality line of well bred Hereford first calf heifers & calves. These heifers are displaying good frame & are presenting mostly in fresh, forward condition. Purchased from a renowned breeder of excellent quality Hereford cattle, operating a closed herd for over 60 years, these heifers represent classed-in surplus breeders which were sold due to ongoing dry conditions. Heifers are WIRRUNA HEREFORD blood with marked & vaccinated calves at foot sired by registered WIRRUNA sires. The depth of breeding quality is clearly visible throughout these cattle, with the heifers exhibiting good frame & depth of bone, & the calves showcasing very good carcass shape & softness, with sound growth rates for age. These cattle are showing the effects of the current dry, windy conditions with a little bit of pinkeye & dusty-eye weep prevalent throughout a few heifers & calves in the mob, which has been treated accordingly with Orbenin cream. 1 heifer & 2 calves have slight lumps around the jaw
