Paddock
Temperament not assessed in Paddock
4 steers were stirry on the day of assessment, they did not settle down and contributed to the this run of steers being unsettled. These steers were not aggressive, however had a large flight zone and did hit portable panels a few times when in close proximaity to people. As a mob they were unsettled in the race and head bale which were made up of noisy and moving portable panels of a yard which they had not worked through before.

Assessor Comments
These steers averaging 275kg would be highly suited to an Organic operation to fatten. Otherwise they are soft enough to suit a trade feedlot job or they have enough quality and frame to put on an oats crop and grow out to heavy feeders or fatten to bullocks. A couple of these steers appeared a little bit thicker in the head suggesting they were a little late cut, this is not expected to be an issue and would still pass as steers. A couple steers have a small amount of hair loss around neck and shoulders, suspected to be lice, being Organic they have had no chemical treatments. Please note Vendor has 3 other lots of steers in the same sale and 4 lots of heifers.
