Assessor Comments
Buyers, good quality Angus steers bred from females purchased out of the New England area. They present in mainly store to forward store condition and look to be gaining weight on the good quantity/quality feed at their disposal. The steers are very quiet, the vendor’s always do an excellent job throughout the weaning process and is reflected in these. All the hard work has been done, they are well and truly over the weaning process, and I suggest these will fly ahead if they get access to improved pastures or oats crops. They possess plenty of length and depth of barrel and don’t look to have had any health setbacks at any stage of their life. They are ideal to background to heavier export feeder weights. There are a few with some eye scarring and one steer with a little bit of redness in an eye so as a result he was treated at assessment. Cattle from Wongavale are continually attracting repeat buyers, evidence they must perform.
