These steers are very easy to handle in all areas of the yards. Temperament has been a huge focus by the vendors and considering these have only been weaned for about 5 days they were very quiet. Buyers advised to allow steers to settle down on arrival before they show them the gate.

Buyers here are EU accredited weaner steers from the very well-respected Roper Downs herd of Charbray and Charbray cross cattle. These young steers have settled very well since they came off the cows last week and are extremely quiet. I would think these are the younger steers in the line so with that in mind they still demonstrate excellent weight for age with all the Euro traits evident for all to see. They have depth of barrel, length, stand on great bone and have muscled up well at a young age. These will tick all the boxes for a backgrounder to take to an oats crop or improved pastures and onto heavy export feeders or right through to be well muscled up bullocks off grass or crop. These are PCAS eligible so will also suit all grassfed slaughter markets off grass. They have been pre-treated for ticks with an injectable so hopefully they will clear but no guarantees can be given. An additional 4.5 decks of heavier steers can be purchased to fill decks.
