Fertiliser History:
'Ponds Creek' has been fertilized almost every year since 1968 with some early history dating back to the late 1950's. During this time lime & calphos have been applied in addition to super phosphate which has been applied at 112kg/ha annually.

Vegetation:
The owners have undertaken a Landcare program since 1979 planting a variety of trees and shrubs to provide extra shade and shelter for livestock. Pine trees were planted in 1979-1993, followed by native species planted during 1994-2008 all of which are now well-established providing protection and allowing for earlier shearing & lambing.

Approximately 65% of the understory planted includes five different varieties of wattles, three varieties of bottle brushes and tea tree. Native tree species range from yellow and grey box, two types of peppermint along with two types of gum and stringybark. The current owners have planted approximately 100,000 trees and have roughly 500 new seedlings coming each year.
