Forest Park Santa Gertrudis Stud

Forest Park and its commercial arm Alice Downs Grazing Company run 3,200 stud and commercial Santa Gertrudis breeders north of Blackall in western Queensland. With an average stud paddock size of 3300 acres, structural soundness and the ability to walk distance is vital. We select our cattle with the commercial producer in mind – easy doing, fertile cattle that survive and thrive in the toughest of conditions. Temperament, constitution and longevity are paramount. Stud animals are afforded no special care and must make it to classification age under their own steam with no crop, no improved pasture and no supplementation whatsoever. The ability to grow on grass is paramount and something we pride ourselves on. Forest Park stud sells approximately 70 bulls per year, primarily through the Barcoo Santa Breeders Bull Sale which is held annually in October. Paddock bulls are available from October until sold out.
