As big cows, a few were agitated in the confines of the crush, mostly those that we wanted to mouth. As the video shows, a couple were a little quicker to walk out the gate into the yard with their calves, but settled immediately when re-united.

A good small mob of big framed mixed age cows that are doing a great job on their calves in trying wet conditions. As the cows came through the race, the vendor indicated which cows were the older ones, and we mouthed those. As the photos show, of the 4 mouthed, two were broken, and the other two were worn but strong. One cow has a fault in the nearside front foot, which is not affecting her, see photo. As can be seen in the video and photos, the cows are big strong cows, many of whom are still in the prime of their lives and quite capable of going on to perform for the successful buyer. 12 of the calves are 1-8 weeks at assessment ( 2-9 weeks at sale), and the four big steer calves are 4 weeks older.
