These heifers early in the assessment showed a propensity to look for a way to get away from you in the yard, once in the race, 2 heifers did play up, one in particular, and a couple were quite unsettled on the scale. When the heifers had been back together in a yard for a while, they did settle to a point where the couple of stirry heifers simply pushed into the mob to get away, and the rest were quite easy to move around. Normal settling practice should be used on arrival to new surrounds.

A medium to large framed lot of first calf heifers in store to forward store condition, running with quality bulls and with a very tight group of 200kg calves at foot. ( calves were born over a ten day period as the heifers had been AI'd) One heifer was seen to have a blue eye at assessment.
