Heifers showed some nervousness whilst working through the yards, & demonstrated some flightiness when put under pressure. Heifers generally took exception to being mouthed/caught in the head bail, with 5 heifers jumping about a bit in the crush. Heifers were generally calm when reunited with their calves, for photos in the paddock. Station bred heifers that could be improved with more handling or supplementary feeding.

Assessor Comments
A nice line of one-mark WATERVALLEY Black Angus station-bred first-calvers, with Angus sired calves at foot. These heifers are displaying medium frames, having previously come from a very dry pocket of SE South Australia. Unfortunately the weather has followed them North & its time to move them on. Calves at foot are mostly fresh & sappy, however 1 heifer calf is notably drier in the coat & leaner than the rest, for no obvious reason. Heifers are presenting in fresh to forward store condition, possessing adequate bone structure, & a reputation for 'doing ability' to put considerable weight on quickly with access to more available, better quality feed. A great opportunity to secure a good quality line of young breeders, with an even line of Angus calves at foot which are starting to attain good weight. Ideal units to improve quickly by adding weight, & in turn, value. Vendor is offering another a line of 15 x 15 good quality Angus 1st calvers, for buyers looking to make up larger loads.
