Assessor Comments
A small run of 18 first calvers and 13 calves with the remaining 5 heifers being heavily pregnant. Purchased as Angus heifers to background up to feedlot weights were found to be in calf. Mostly being good quality with a small amount of very good quality and a small amount of fair quality. Mostly only small framed because of the age they would have got in calf and should continue to grow given good conditions however one heifer (with a calf) is small framed and does appear to be fully grown. One heifer that is pregnant is quite narrow in the hips and may have to be watched calving. Most of the calves seem to be getting adequate milk, however 3 calves are a bit woody. PLEASE NOTE, one calf has a turned eye (sunken) & her other eye does have blue scarring. Please see photos. They are quiet, and good to handle.
