Cattle are good to handle with the Cows and calves being drafted in the yards through a gate prior to assessing. Cows do have a bit of run in them in the yards, just staying away from us while working them. No malice in them, just shy away. Cattle were good to handle through the crush.

A tidy line of middle-aged EU Accredited Poll Hereford and Black Baldy Cows and Calves. Cows are from 4.5 to 7.5 years old. All cows were mouthed at assessment and aged checked with tattoo brand in the ear. All cows were full-mouth with no missing teeth with 3 head noted with slightly worn teeth. Cows have been running back with the Angus bull from 30/11/21 and was removed at assessment due to injury, time frame unknown, but the first time it had been noticed. Calves are unmarked with only 2 head being younger fresher calves. From the 21 calves, 8 head are Angus with the balance being Black Baldy. Quality replacement breeders. Shalimar Park has always been Nov/Dec calving herd, with progeny retained and grown out for the feedlots or generally finished for the domestic markets.
