Very well educated, inquisitive & placid to handle with only a handful fidgety when in or leaving the the weigh box. Even though they had been preg tested the day before and separated from their calves overnight, they all marched through with little to no fuss at all.

Very good quality Droughtmaster & D/M cross cows continually running with top Rondel Droughtmaster bulls. PTIC 15 x 5 months or greater & 7 x 5 months or less in calf. The temperament and maternal capacity of these cows is noted - they keep on bringing a calf in each year. Ideal cows to purchase along side with the 50 x 54 also offered in the same sale to calve out knowing the progeny are heavily influenced by the top Rondel Droughtmaster genetics & the cows have good frame to fatten into a heavy weight cow on good feed. As mentioned in the cow & calf assessment the PTIC cows may have had exposure to a Braford bull whilst away on agistment however whilst he was not seen in the mob - there are 14 Braford x calves in the cows and calves.

14 Vendor bred - The Thornville herd of cows are known for quality, good temperament & frame. The 8 purchased cows were from a herd dispersal in 2016 from the local Longreach district.
Bloodlines
Only Rondel Poll or Scurr bulls have been purchased in the last 7 years. The purchased cows are from a Droughtmaster/ D/M cross herd of cows.
Grazing Conditions
The cattle have been grazing at Thornville on very good quality fresh Mitchell grass and numerous herbages since returning from agistment three weeks ago. The feed prior to and now is exceptional quality.
