33 Angus heifers with Angus calves at foot. The hfrs averaged 482kg full and the calves 86kg at assessment. There are 2 lines in the hfrs, which were both purchased from Leeton NSW as PTIC at the end of Oct 22. 11 are Hazeldean and Bongongo blood and the 22 are Cascade blood, both were PTIC to Kenny Creek Angus bulls. Both lots starting calving on the 28/11/22 for 9 weeks, all hfrs calved unassisted. The 11 are 18-21 months of age and the 22 are 22-25 months old. You can pick the 2 lines of hfrs in the yards, the 22 have a bit more frame than the 11 and have different ear notches. They are exceptionally quiet to handle in the yards and all flowed through the crush well. One hfrs had a lump under its jaw so all hfrs were given a Liver Fluke drench at assessment as a precaution. The heifers are maintaining cover and the calves present fresh with plenty of juice.
