Assessor Comments
A well bred draft of Angus cows & calves offered due to deteriorating local seasonal conditions. This group of cows were originally retained as core breeders after selling down the herd last year. They are in healthy store condition and feature Rossander, Murdeduke & Ballangeich bloodlines. Cows are predominantly medium frame and better (two to three head smaller frame). The Askew herd are usually early to mid 600kgs when prime but these cows are probably a frame score less due to two very trying years during maturity. Calves at foot are mainly fresh condition (odd calf just slightly dryer in coat recently) sired by quality LKK Angus bulls. The Askew program traditionally markets quality Angus weaners to backgrounders and finishers with positive feedback from previous purchasers. These opportunities to acquire core breeding stock out of the renowned Western District area won’t last forever. A chance to acquire well bred cows with calves at foot that will perform. Cows ready to join.
