Heifers were drafted through a pound on foot and whilst they moved quickly they were blocked and sent into the pound one at a time with minimal fuss. Whilst moving actively through gates opened in front of them none were considered aggressive . Consistent with commercial heifers some became a little claustrophobic when isolated .

A line of good heifers from the coast north of Marlborough they have the ability to go on and thrive anywhere . Being on the coast these heifers have had access to Lantana. These heifers will produce good crossbred calves that will suit any weaner market . It was noted that one heifer had dog damaged ears and 5 heifers were showing fly damage to their necks it was not thought that this would affect their breeding potential.
