Very well educated, inquisitive & placid to handle with only a handful fidgety when in or leaving the the weigh box. Even though they had been preg tested the day before and separated from their calves overnight there was only 1 purchased cow reluctance to enter the race, otherwise they all marched through with little to no fuss at all. No cow showed any sign of aggression when reintroduced to their calves for photos when I wandered in between or close.

Very good quality Droughtmaster & D/M cross cows with calves at foot by top Rondel Droughtmaster bulls. 14 calves sired by a Braford bull when on agistment. There may be the potential some of the PTIC have had access to the same Braford bull yet not seen in the mob. 15 male calves are entire - the balance marked & branded, 2 calves are dry in the coat. 1 cow with a close horn that is loose, 1 hip off & 2 with longer toes. Selling 50 x 54 in this lot - giving the calves in. 10 cows are preg tested back in calf & there are another mob of 22 PTIC (dry cows) also in the same sale. There is the potential that 4 of the larger calves are self weaned & could belong to either mob yet are being sold with the cows & calves. Calves weighed on a 24 hr dry curfew & cows on a 14 hr dry curfew.

Stock History
29 Vendor bred - The Thornville herd of cows are known for quality, good temperament & frame. The 21 purchased cows were from a herd dispersal in 2016 from the local Longreach district.
Bloodlines
Only Rondel Poll or Scurr bulls have been purchased in the last 7 years. The purchased cows are from a Droughtmaster/ D/M cross herd of cows.
Grazing Conditions
The cattle have been grazing at Thornville on very good quality fresh Mitchell grass and numerous herbages since returning from agistment three weeks ago. The feed prior to and now is exceptional quality.
