Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The cows were a pleasure to work in and through the yards and the vendor reports that they handle similarly in the paddock. They have been educated with LSS practices and move calmly in, through and out of the yards. Four cows became mildly agitated in the crush but settled quickly on exit. The cattle are accustomed to bikes, horses and dogs. They have also been educated to single wire electric fences.

Assessor Comments
Good to very good quality proven breeders which are a reluctant sale on the part of the vendor due to the sale of the property. Heavily selected over the years for fertility, they represent an excellent opportunity to secure a line of quality proven breeders. The Somerset Trading Co cows have always produced very good quality weaners with good acceptance in the store and feeder markets. All cows have been mouthed with the older ones fresh sound mouth. Three cows noted with slight eye blemishes but generally they are sound with wear and tear in line with age. The bulls used in the joining at Northcotte are Booroomooka R84, Mooroobie Angus N135, N78 and P11 and Nairn Park N15 and R90. The Booroomooka bull was given a head start of 30 days on the other bulls. The main Angus female blood lines used are Dulverton, Raff, Boshammer and XL Angus. Please note other lines of cows in this sale from the same vendor - this is a genuine clearance of quality breeders due to the property being sold.
