Free moving cattle that haven’t had a lot of education. Only ever being handled on a as/when needed basis, so requiring a bit more blocking up and educating. Nothing showing any untoward behaviour, just rushing through gateways and burrowing their heads in corners. Despite this, they were all brought up by a single handler, led very quietly & easily through the race, and majority were very well behaved in the crush, standing perfect, just being their yard manners that let them down.

Assessor Comments
Nice lot of young breeders, only offered for sale due to the tightness of the season & the vendor wanting to turn more towards trading stock. These young cows have done it tough over the trying seasonal conditions of the Upper Murray, however, have not received any supplementary feeding & have not long had calves weaned off them, with most still in the process of cleaning up underneath. The job done on the 2024 drop calves is a credit to these females, especially given that they had no help, all producing a healthy ‘weight for age’, forward condition calf that went on to sell very well in a recent store sale. An ideal line of breeders to take on, being only weeks away now from calving, and the perfect lot to either retain or split at the other end of the Spring.
