Assessor Comments
This lot of 46 x 46 cows with calves at foot have 10 of the wet cows presenting back in calf (8 weeks to 5 months) so are 3 in 1 units. An additional 16 dry cows were pregnancy tested (8 weeks to 7 months). These cows have been running constantly with bulls and were all pregnancy tested by a vet. The cows present in store condition. Prior to the rain in late February the cattle were fed on pulled or cut Mulga and since then the cows have freshened up on the current good quality Buffel and natural grasses. These cows have done well considering the seasonal conditions to continue to cycle and breed good young calves. One cow presented at assessment with a resemblance to Angus, 2 cows are a brindle type, 2 cows black and tan and one cow creamy type. These cows should continue to improve given more time on grass. At assessment 2 cows had their horns tipped away from the head and treated with Terramycin spray. One cow noticed with very slight old blue eye scarring, no issues expected.
