Heifers were drafted through a pound on foot and whilst they moved quickly they were blocked and sent into the pound one at a time with minimal fuss. Whilst moving actively through gates opened in front of them none were considered aggressive . Consistent with commercial females some heifers when isolated became a little claustrophobic .

A line of good heifers from the coast north of Marlborough they have the ability to go on and thrive anywhere . Being on the coast these heifers have had access to Lantana. These heifers will produce good crossbred calves that will require minimal dehorning and suit any weaner market . A small blemish was noted on the silverside area of one heifer and 6 heifers showed some level of fly scarring it was not believed this would affect their breeding potential.
