All cows handle handled very well in the crush and yards. Drafted off their calves easily and all walked up the race quietly. Just a couple of girls that were a bit anxious on the scales, doing some weaving and stomping. All settled once back in the yards, and were very quiet to walk amongst in the holding paddock for photos & video.

Assessor Comments
Excellent line of young, black baldy females, with fresh, 127kg, bright eyed, healthy Autumn drop calves at foot. Howgill Farm run a renowned North East Hereford/Black Baldy Herd, with 40 years of breeding behind these females, exclusively using the Injermira Hereford genetics for 35 of those years - then bringing the introduction of Wynford Angus genetics to keep up with the market demand for black cattle. Bred out of proper big matrons, with the empty’s always dressing out at 350-380kg. These females come from a herd that has built a strong reputation for producing top weaners that are repeatedly purchased by local bullock fatteners. Note* The Bulls have been back in since 25/05, Vendor is also willing to sell the bulls at a mutually agreed price, please talk to the agent.

Vendor Comments
It’s been a hard decision to come to. But based on ease of management going forward, we’ve decided to switch over to running feeders and sadly dispersing the Howgill Farm herd after 40 years of breeding.
