These females were excellent to handle, calmly moved through crush and were a pleasure to assess. Dogs are used in paddocks but not yards. All cattle mustered on 4 wheel motorbikes.

The Chisholm Family have been ACR Performance Recording this herd 30 years. 'Gwalia' first became a member of 'Team Te Mania' in 1995 which now consists of 20,000 cows with a total of 10 herds in the Progeny Test Group. The increased volume of data coming from the 'Team' increases the accuracy of genetic predictions; all Members have full access to the most elite genetics available at Te Mania. ‘Gwalia’ Artificially Inseminate 400 head yearly and run a cow herd of 500. They tag and weigh calves at birth which links the calf to the Dam and the Bull. Susie Chisholm is a great believer in educating weaners who are very quick to learn and those lessons stay with them all their life.
The steer portion are grown out and sold to Rangers Valley for their 'Black Onyx' brand; which requires a 5+ marble score Angus Beef.
The ‘Gwalia’ herd in mid February 2022 received an updated report from BreedPlan of:
