The heifers were generally good to handle in the yards. In the crush two head were slightly agitated in and exiting the crush and three head were highly agitated. Buffalo fly was present and making the heifers very uncomfortable and would have contributed negatively to their mood. In the paddock they are educated to electric fences including single wire electric fences and bikes.

A mostly good to very good quality line of vet preg tested NDP heifers. The heifers are a mix of vendor bred and heifers that were purchased to use as part of a joining program. They only had a six week joining ending on 28/02/22 and these are the NDP heifers. With a LWR of 362 - 477 kg, they are ideal to take directly onto feed for the heavier end of the high quality domestic/MSA slaughter market. One heifer had a patch over one eye to assist in healing pink eye and she will be checked prior to delivery to ensure the pink eye is still not active. The heifers are located just south of the Gore Hwy / Wyaga Rd intersection (approx 70km west of Millmerran) and as such are handy to access the main north-south trucking routes.
