These calves considering they have not as yet been weaned worked pretty well through the yards. Odd one was a little bit unsettled in the crush but generally quiet. Buyer advised to complete the weaning process on arrival to allow them sufficient time to adapt to their new surroundings without their mothers.

Buyers, an impressive line of F1 Speckle Park steer calves that present in excellent condition. They will remain on the cows until delivery so should still gain in weight. The feed conditions are very good and as a consequence the cows are milking very well. Calves have put on an average of about 40kgs in the past 30 days. I did note 1 steer had some warts on the side of the head (photo attached) but no issues expected. Also about two steers were castrated a little bit later and had a ring on them so the purse hasn’t quite dropped of as yet. The Speckle Park industry is humming along very well and these don’t have a lot of weight in them so buy with confidence for the long term. The Speckle Park over a Brahman looks to be paying dividends as it has certainly put some bone and fleshing into these young steers. Suit to grow out to domestic or export feedlot entry weights or fatten to meet all grassfed slaughter specs. Please note the heifer portion are also being offered in this sale.
