Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Assessed first day off mothers and although weaners tended to be a little sticky with a percentage pushing up the race, they will be considerably better after handling and educating prior to delivery. All drafted through a pound draft and then sent up the race for assessment. No concerns with temperament and have always had positive feedback. ***inspected 4 days after assessment with excellent temperament and handling, walked quietly through yards and gateways without breaking into a trot***

Assessor Comments
An excellent line of young Charbray/Charolais type weaners steers. well suited to southern markets with flat backs and plenty of softness about them! freshly weaned with plenty of potential these weaners will not disappoint! Genuine heavy feeder/grass bullock type cattle that grow out very well. Good moderate frame with miles of bone & quality about them. Tidy heads and good temperament throughout the mob. Steers have all had a 400 day Compudose at the end of February when branded. Weaners are heavily influenced by River Glen bloodlines with vendors also purchasing bulls from Ayr Charolais stud more recently to use over their cow herd. assessed 1 day off mothers and handled very well through the draft and scales, will certainly improve with handling prior to delivery. small percentage of steers showing higher levels of bos indicus content with minimal hump height. An excellent opportunity to purchase a line of highly sort after Flatback weaners ready to fire ahead.

Vendor Comments
part of our annual turn off of weaner steers, these are the lead of our Charbray/Charolais type weaners. on the market earlier than usual due to the lack of available agistment. Normally these steers would be carried through to heavy feeders.
