Comment on Fat Score 1 Cattle
All cattle would be considered store and strong store condition. The lighter steers are showing signs of the feed getting tighter and the feed quality dropping off. The coats are just starting to get rougher especially in the lighter end. Overall they are a excellent mob of steers which would be ideal to background.

Paddock
Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Cattle handle very well with usual flight zone expected for Brahman cattle. Like most Brahman cattle a small percentage will become stirry if under pressure. However no cattle were aggressive or gave cause for concern.

Assessor Comments
4 Decks (44 per Deck) of young backgrounding type steers exhibiting terrific weight for age characteristics. On assessment my view was that many of these cattle carried enough leg and frame to go on to become bullocks if that was desirable. Time off feed is marked 12 hours however they where chopper mustered the afternoon before into the yards which gives me confidence in noting a positive daily gain until delivery. The cattle are offered $/head and have been returned to the same paddock less 168hd of smaller steers which where drafted out of the sale mob and put into a different paddock. At assessment 2 brindle steers noted in the mob, however these were still high quality steers with true Brahman characteristics. These cattle are located in clean country for tick, 20kms South East of Richmond. Note it has been estimated at 44 Head/Deck if at loading if it is deamed that this is too tight for the distance to travel there is no obligation to the buyer to reduce number to a safe load.

Mitchell and Flinders grass pasture which still has good colour but showing signs of being grazed. There would be less than 50% of feed remaining. The steers would still be gaining a small amount of weight but have dropped off since start of season.

Vendor Comments
Healthy and strong cattle in forward store condition. Selling steers because more than 50% of paddock has been utilised to allow more time for lighter cattle. Note if 44 / Deck is to tight there is no obligation to buyer to take those that don't fit.
