Assessor Comments
A 5% fair, 35% good and 60% very good quality line of Angus and Angus cross weaned heifers. With mostly medium to large frame they suit to take to domestic feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality markets. As the heifers had access to bulls while on the cows - the heifers over 260 kg were VET preg tested at assessment. All NDP Hfrs, 2 hfrs just in calf and the heifers under 260 kg were all needled with Lutalyse to ensure that all 23 are not in calf. They were drafted with a LWR of 202 - 432 kg after a solid 18hr dry curfew. No active pink eye was noted at assessment, but they will be reassessed prior to loading and no cattle with active PE will be loaded. One heifer noted with mod blue eye spot in one eye and a number of heifers noted with fly bite marks around eyes. These heifers are part of their normal turnoff from a herd which is joined all year round. No heifers are retained in the herd. Located close to Goondiwindi opposite the airport to assist with trucking.
