Calves that are still on their mothers so consequently no weaning protocols have been introduced as yet. They worked pretty easily through a good set of yards and I would think will settle down fairly quickly once they arrive at their new destination.

Assessor Comments
Buyers a small line of lightweight steers that are still running on the cows. They are good quality calves, their mothers were still yarded at assessment and appear to be large framed roomy matrons, these traits are sure to filter into their progeny. Located only 16kms from the Gore Roadhouse on the Cunningham Highway (Goondiwindi/Warwick road). This should allow buyers a backload opportunity for any trucks heading south empty. These calves aren’t sappy and full of milk so I would think they aren’t going to melt and lose too much weight through the weaning process. They don’t seem to have had any setbacks at any stage and appear to be healthy (no weeping eyes or nasal discharge). Bred in light breeder country so I would expect these to really perform on heavier type country. There are 2 other lots in this sale from the same place that can be used to fill up a load. Not often you can buy little lightweight steers around the 160kgs so the dollar value shouldn’t scare too many buyers.
