Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These young steers worked quietly and sensibly through the yards considering their limited handling, with 1 steer panicking a bit in the race until he was released and then settled down fine when he joined the mob. Out of a very quiet breeder herd, temperament will not be an issue with these steers.

Assessor Comments
Vendor presents a small, but very good quality run of very soft, well mannered vendor bred steers for your competition. These steers come out of a very good breeding herd that have been selecting on temperament, fertility, type, softness and performance for many years. They will remain on their mothers until delivery. These versatile steers are soft enough to background through to a trade feedlot weight, or easily have enough frame and bone to keep going through to a heavy feeder or kill weights. One steer was noticed to have a small lump on his neck not far from the butt of his ear from a vaccination needle, and 2 steers were noticed to have a small amount of hair loss around one of their eyes, possibly from fly or perhaps warts, not deemed to be detrimental in any way. Please note vendor has 8 weaner heifers in this sale that may help out with freight.
