Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The steers are very good to handle in the yards having been fresh weaned & in hand 4 days at assessment. If isolated or undue pressure applied they will behave accordingly yet settle well in the mob. They will continue to settle whilst in hand on feed however will require further / normal additional handling and educating from the purchaser to complete the weaning process. Overall the temperament of the Bendigo Park & Edith Downs herd is very good.

Assessor Comments
A very good quality line of HGP free store to light store condition Santa & Santa x steers. Good long bodied cattle with frame and potential compensatory gain. The Bendigo Park Herd are noted performers with years of Santa breeding and genetics behind them. The Curley Family have been purchasing quality Santa bulls for decades & evident in the assessed cattle. 1 steer has a small ruptured purse, 2 are heavy close cut to the head horn (later branded yet no secondary characteristics) otherwise the balance are clean headed & well dehorned or any with horn soft baby horn or polled. A small number are double age branded for family ID purposes. 1 late round #1 steer (milk tooth) & the balance #2 branded. A % appear rougher in the coat and will bounce ahead on good quality feed. The cattle were dipped and cleared before arriving in Winton. Buyers will not be disappointed in purchasing these cattle.
