Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Cattle were good to handle throughout the yards & crush. In the bigger yard only one heifer moved away from pressure quickly. In the crush 16 Heifers were slightly agitated while standing in the crush and would not fully settle while being assessed. The rest would all settle in the crush given enough time. In the yards and in the cells they are worked using Low Stress Stock Handling techniques and are used to being grazed in single electric wire grazing cells.

Assessor Comments
A line of good to very good quality Angus, Angus x and crossbred yearling heifers. With medium to large frame they suit to take directly onto feed for the domestic supermarket trade. Alternatively they suit to take and join to a bull of the buyers choice with the top 50% potentially making good quality future breeders. The heifers were vet preg tested as 100% NDP on the 31/01/24 after having an opportunity to bulls while still on cows. The heifers have not had access to grain or cotton seed and are suitable for grass finished markets. They were yard weaned on hay in groups from May - December 2023, worked through the yards during weaning using Low Stress Stock Handling practices. They have had 2 x 5 in 1 shots and have been raised in a cell grazing operation using single wire electric fences. One heifer with slight warts near eye and another two with slight blue eye in one eye. A nice line of NDP heifers with a tight LWR of 270 - 399 kg full weight that suit a range of markets.
