The steers were very good to handle in the yards for freshly weaned cattle. 19 steers became mildly unsettled in the crush and exited quickly. They all settled quickly when back in the pen together. It is expected they will settle further as they get handled in and through the yards during weaning.

Assessor Comments
A line of mostly good to very good quality vendor bred weaned steers. They range from Angus and Angus cross through to a soft British Bred/Euro/Bos Indicus with three flatback steers with upto 50% Bos Indicus content. The steers are medium (42%) to mostly large frame (58%) and have the breed type and conformation to take onto domestic and then export feeder weights. Three steers noted with healing ring worm around the face and neck. They were yard weaned from the day prior to assessment and be worked in and through the yards before being put into smaller weaner paddovks near yards. They are located approx 26km south of the Intersection of Tenterden Rd and the Guyra-Tinga Rd. This is the lead of this years weaners with the lighter and younger calves not in these lines and remaining on the cows. LWR at assessment was 160 - 310 kg after a 24 hr wet curfew off cows. Good quality light weight young steers that will move forward on good feed.
