Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The weaners were assessed after being removed from the cows. Five head were highly agitated in the crush while 17 where moderately agitated. The cattle's behavior in the crush is best described as uneducated as they tried to push through or exit the crush quickly. All but two head settled in the yards for the photos and videos. They will be worked in and through the yards (including the race) during weaning and should settle significantly.

Assessor Comments
A good to very good quality line of medium to large frame EU accredited weaner heifers. This is the lighter end of the heifers and were drafted with a weight range of 171 - 280 kg. Approx half the weaners were overnight curfewed off cows the night prior to assessing with the balance taken off cows the morning of assessment. All weights have been treated as if they were full weights. The weaners are PCAS eligible if required. Two heifers with moderate blue eye spot in one eye were noted. Active pink eye was observed during assessing and the any calves showing PE will be treated prior to delivery. No cattle with active PE will be loaded. This and the heavier end of the weaner heifers represent the full run of this years weaner heifers. No heifers are being retained. These EU accredited heifers are ideal to background to heavy domestic feeder weights and then grain or crop finish for a range of high quality yearling slaughter markets.
