Steers were a little flighty in the yards when first handled and moved around a bit on the scale platform but quickly settled once back with their mates. Cattle are not flighty or mad and will certainly improve with more handling

Assessor Comments
2nd Draft of the Cottrell Ag Steer Weaners offered in todays sale. Calves present well considering there has not been decent rain the last 9 Months. All Calves are within a 55kg weight range weighing between 250kg & 305kg at Assessment. Steers that are traditionally never sold at this age & weight, always going on to a high value MSA Graded Grass Kill or Heavy Feeders. Off grass the vendors consistently hit the top of the grid with the majority of their cattle and they have a solid history of performance at the feed yard. Out of a medium to large frame herd of Dunoon blood Cows these steers can be delivered with a PCAS non-certified supplier declaration upon request. There were 31 Steers noted at Assessment with old Pinkeye scarring but still had sight in the affected eye. None of the Pinkeye were active, and will be checked at delivery. There was also a small amount of Ringworm that appeared to be clearing up and 1 Steer had a Birthmark on Near side Rump, See photos for examples.
