Steers worked very well through crush for weighing given only weaned 5 days before assessment. In general good to handle in yards at weaning. Out of quiet Droughtmaster females selected on type and temperament for long term breeders on Oakden Hills station.

141 Pastoral bred steers, soft Baldy type crossbred weaners bred from drought-master cows. Well handled and backgrounded, will be held in yards until delivery. Vendor first turnoff of weaners since restocking in 2020. Strong bone hybrid vigor steers ideal for further grass backgrounding. Note 100% weighed on weaning avg 288kg sample re-weighed 5 days later avg 283kg. Expect to maintain weight after weaning. Vendor to offer 500km free freight to property with full road-train access or will be delivered to nominated delivery yards. Note no price discount for under 500km delivery.

Returned to: Held in yards and fed good quality hay until delivery . Note weaners held in two separate yards but mustering from same breeding paddock.
