Steers were run straight in from the paddock, trotted up the laneway and straight in to the yards. No sooner were the scales hooked up, they were being pushed up from the back yard in to the crush. Given the haste of the procedure, the slight stirriness of these steers can be mostly forgiven. They were brought up from the back yard by a single female handler, and all led up the race well. Just a bit anxious in the tighter spaces.

Assessor Comments
Pure Te Mania Angus blood steers and destined to be absolute marbling machines - Out of a self replacing herd of Te Mania Angus Cows, By High Marbling (+5IMF) Te Mania P & Q drop Sires. Steers with a reputation for feedlot performance and carcass quality. Usually retained and grown out to feedlot induction weights, but moving on early to get some pastures in the ground after a glowing Autumn start. This leaves the door wide open for someone to take on a line of very reputable, high performing young steers. In very storey condition, presenting all frame, with very little cover & still looking a bit dry and rough in the coat from the harsh Summer we’ve just seen. These steers are right on the doorstep of kicking off with the season and will be unrecognisable in another 6 weeks.
