A small % of animals agitated in the crush at weighing . Vast majority were quiet in the yards & crush. Steers that have been recently weaned . Handled with bikes & Vechiles only . They are not used to anyone on Foot . Approx 15 % of Mob were flighty & showed a bit of run & would not settle initially when on foot taking photos. Balance of Mob were good & settled down as they became familar with us after 20 minutes. Additional education in the Yards on arrival would be beneficial to the steers

Annual Draft of Big Springs Dunoon & Rennylea Blood Autumn Drop Angus weaner Steers.Ave: 381kg (342-416kg) Note: This is a run out the gate from a group of 105 Steers. (would make a good road train load) These steers are ideal to go onto feed now or background to heavier weights. An even line of steers in a tight weight group.These weaners have been bred from high performing Dunoon & Rennylea sires,(see Sire links) with a focus on growth (400 and 600 days), IMF and grass/ grain indexes. These steers are showing excellent length & depth of body to grow onto heavier weights . Big Springs Pastoral cattle have a good reputation for Marbling & was identified as one of the top 100 beef producers by M.S.A . These steers will not disappoint and come with the highest Recommendation. Note: 1 Steer showing small scurr.

The calves have done really well since birth in one of the best 12mths I have seen regarding feed. Normally drenched at weaning wasn't done as they were so healthy. Would suggest buyer to drench them on arrival.
