Yard weaned steers that have been well educated throughout the weaning process and flowed through the entire assessment process quite easily. An odd steer got a little agitated in the crush and an odd steer wanted to break from the group but all in all very easy to handle steers

Assessor Comments
Well bred yard weaned steers bred in the high country out of volume females and are noted performers in both grassfed and feedlot environments. Coming out of a tight season these weaners present in fresh store condition and will explode once shown some favourable seasonal conditions. Steers carry Ardrossan and Alpine Angus bloodlines, display good length, bone and type and have all the potential to carry big weights at a young age as they have proven in the past. Note any tail end/off type steers removed at assessment. Because of the season our southern weaners are certainly carrying more frame than their weight suggests, great opportunity to buy quality weaners ready to bounce.
