The steers were very good to handle in the yards and through the crush. The yards are new with a new Clipex crush and the cattle flowed very easily through the yards and were very comfortable and settled in the crush. 15 head were moderately unsettled in and exiting the crush and one steer was highly agitated in the crush. They all settled down quickly in the yards.

Assessor Comments
A mostly good to very good quality line of vendor bred EU accredited weaner steers. They are medium to large frame and are well suited to background to heavy domestic and then onto export feeder weights. They range from Angus and Angus x through to soft crossbred steers. Three steers have close to 50% BI content but are flatback steers. Two steers have slight blue eye scarring in one eye and one Angus steer has warts face and near eyes. These steers are normally retained and grown out for the export feeder market but are being sold due to the season. They have been confined for the past two months and are being fed a bunk ration of silage and weaner pellets. They are moving ahead at close to 1 kg/day and will continue to move ahead with access to feed. These EU steers are nice and growthy and are located in the tick free area and are free to travel to all tick free areas.
