Buyers, a great opportunity to secure a VGQ 4 deck line of vendor-bred weaned steers. This is the lead draft of the Santa and Simmental cross Barford 2024 weaners. Steers are out of large-frame Santa, Simmental and Droughtmaster cross cows and are sired by high-priced Santa and Simmental Bulls Steers stand on good bone and show good length, depth and great weight for age. Steers were bred on vendors three properties and were returned to Barford at weaning and have been achieving great weight gains of 1.5 kg day on failed oats since July. These steers are gaining a good reputation for performance on grass or grain and come highly recommended, ideally suited to take through to grass bullocks or alternatively export feeder entry as they were drafted into 415 to 520 kg Please note two steers observed with a slight blue spot in one eye which is not considered detrimental. Steers described with horns are only weaner horn well inside ears. Vendor has 3 decks of lighter brothers in this sale.
