These steers are in good health and are going along well due to the tough season they have had. Showing no signs of being any different in condition to normal though. Vendor has done a very good job.

These cattle are quality bred steers from the renowned Yalkuri herd. Steers are sired predominantly by sons of Landfall Keystone, Landfall Leonardo, Chilten Park Moe and Baldridge 38 Special. Steers have been yard weaned and all animal health is up to date. The cattle handle very well and are quite, and show great capacity and shape considering the tough season. Steers will suit backgrounders and/or a grass fattening operation, and are highly regarded. They are generally grown out to feeder weights but due to the season, they are being sold earlier. This draft consisted of steers predominantly 270-320kg at assessment, making a rather even line (270 was the minimum weight). Around five steers have very light pink eye scaring that is not active or detrimental to the steer, they were treated again at assessment. A small amount of ring worm was also observed in around 10 steers, but this was hardly noticeable at first.
