Assessor Comments
Three decks of 120 vendor-bred steers, HGP FREE, with very big weight compensatory gains. Following a 24 hour curfew, being drafted through the pound the steers were weighed into a tight weight range of 190 to 308kg to Av. 253kg. 20 head mouthed all having milk teeth with the majority being #3’s These steers were very well handled through the yards during drafting and assessing. Please note some photos have been taken the following morning being 38 hours off feed and having 16mm of rain that night. Coming from a composite herd these steers are by Droughtmaster, Charolais, Red Angus/Senepol and Angus bulls, however 15 head do have more brahman type and slight humps. Vendor also offers a line of 6 decks of heavier steers 300 to 418kg Av. 353 in the same sale. Post assessment these cattle have had a total of 66mm of rain.
