These weaners have only been weaned for the past few weeks and are still fairly flighty. There are ring leaders that tend to move rapidly in the bigger yards and they need to be steadied down through a gateway, not unusual. Nothing in the mob that could be considered aggressive. Would encourage buyers to allow steers sufficient time to settle down on arrival prior to being shown the 'bush gate'. Would benefit from further weaning protocols and maybe tailed out.

Buyers, 7-decks of Consuelo EU ACCREDITED and PCAS ELIGIBLE Santa backgrounder steers being offered in one 3-deck and one 4-deck lot (286 head all up). These have developed a great reputation and been offered on A+ for the past 10 years and always seem to attract plenty of repeat buyers who have commented on the great performance these steers deliver them. They have presented mostly in store condition after the winter, and I would suggest these will really hit their straps on improved pastures or crop so would expect plenty of compensatory gains. The steers show adequate growth and fleshing and most have muscled up well. I would imagine these are basically the younger steers in the crop, hence the light weight. They are genetically very sound cattle and would be ideal to put away and take out to heavier export feedlot entry weights. Clean country buyers note they are offered GUARANTEED CLEAR of the dip and should clear the dip on Saturday.
