Assessor Comments
A very good quality line of unweaned Autumn drop steer calves, presenting in very fresh condition & exhibiting excellent carcass shape with squareness & softness in abundance. These Speckle Park cross steers have all been sired by WATTLE GROVE Speckle Park sire (WGS P110), allowing for good evenness & consistency of type across the mob. They are out of large framed cows, & possess the breeding potential to develop into export weight steers, whilst still maintaining the carcass shape & early maturity required to finish into Trade markets as yearlings. These steers would normally be grown out by the vendor into either feeder weights or finished into domestic trade kill markets depending on available feed, however, continued dry weather has brought about the early sale of this years drop. Attractive, quiet cattle that would perform equally well for both a backgrounding/feedlot operation, or a fattening enterprise. Vendor has 9 heifers from the same drop on offer this sale as well.
